(A) Artifact (Source #1), Sampoong Department Store
1. This is when the Sampoong department store was collapsed. As you can see that only the sides are remained. Except for that every parts are destroyed and devastated. This is actually the building that my brother almost went into the store and almost had a real big accident.
2. I think this is a primary source because this is a building that was part of the event. My brother was involved in this situation. He and my mother was right in front of the building when it collapsed.
3.This picture is a very significant source because this is the building that killed almost 400people. My brother and my mom could have been in one of the 400 people. If they were in the accident I wouldn't be here writing this. This is the source that states that this accident was very huge and important. This picture tells that it would have been terrible to have an accident in that disaster.
4. In June 26th, 1995 the Sampoong department store collapses and it become the biggest peacetime disaster in South Korean history. The reason why the store collapsed was that it was poorly built and the building was build in an unstable ground. The method that they use to construct the store was different than others. My brother and my mother very luckily survived through this disaster.

The survival of the people after the collapse were becoming more impossible. A recue workers are using their best efforts to save the people who were still alive in the pile. The workers were trying to save the people in the dump who were trapped in there for 30 days, knowing the fact that they were alive. 200 cranes, 6 thousands of people, and the survivor detector from US were used to rescue.
The rescue workers went through the buildings that weren’t collapsed and saved several people. This afternoon, with the giant crane , they are going to pull out those dumps and penetrate the underground walls to find more survivors.
The poisoned gas from the burn made the rescue delayed. The vibrations while moving the dumps can affect the the building next to it can collapse too. This also made the rescue work delayed.
Despite the situations, the people with bloods and dusts covered all over the body were rescued and they were cheering.
However, the people in the B building 2nd floor basement of the department store were all dead.
At 10pm, in the B building 3rd floor basement, including one children almost 40 people were saved.
2.I think this source is a secondary source because it indirectly explains my event. This newspaper doesn't talk about my brother nor my mother.
3.If you read the newspaper, there is a lot of words that is related to death and injuries. This tells me that this sources are significant to the event. It tells me that my family survived from the 340people who were dead in that building.

1. This picture is my dad talking about the incident that happened to my brother and my mother.
2.This is a secondary source because my dad is talking about other people's event.
3. The interview was the most significant source than the others even though it was a secondary source. He talks very specifically about what happened better than the my brother or my mother. I could actually feel how close that part of my family was to death.
